Getting connected is about setting up your communications and resource account so you are fully connected with 十大菠菜台子 Information Technology 资源.  资源 include email, network access, and My帆 access.

十大菠菜台子, technology plays an important role in the management of your academic life, 如果你是一个学生, or your work environment and communications, 如果你是一名雇员. This guide provides instructions to get connected by activating your 账户.

The OU identification number is called the GrizzlyID number, a system-generated number that includes one letter (G) and eight numbers and is your assigned student number. The GrizzlyID number is NOT related to your GrizzCard, and the number on your GrizzCard is not usable to information technology resources. You need a GrizzlyID and 销 to start the process of activating your NetID.

使用NetID, you will login to the My帆 portal, 检查你的邮件, read about campus activities, 注册课程, review the course catalog, 运行进度到度, 过程的成绩, and track financial aid status. You can access all the features of My帆 with your NetID. You can use your NetID to login to the Moodle online learning environment for full online courses and supplemental resources for classroom instruction. Get Your GrizzlyID Number

You can get your GrizzlyID number by checking or contacting any of the offices ready to help you or by using the listed services.

新同学:

  • 验证 Activate your Accounts section of the Grizzly Guide.  
  • Check your acceptance letter to find your GrizzlyID.  
  • If you do not have your Grizzly ID number, contact your admissions office.  
    • New undergraduate students should call 本科 Admissions at (248) 370-3360 or (248) 370-3227 for more information.  
    • 研究生 students should contact 研究生 Study - email (电子邮件保护) 或致电248-370-2700.  
    • Professional and continuing education students should contact Professional and Continuing Education - email (电子邮件保护) 或致电248-370-3177.

Returning Students and 校友:

  • 登录到 My帆 and viewing the MyDetails portlet, grades or unofficial transcript.

  • 校友 and other previous students can access to view grades/transcripts, W2’s etc by logging in with GrizzlyID and Grizzly 销.

  • Check your employment records if you are employed with the university.

To use your GrizzlyID, you must  reset your GrizzlyID Pin.

You also can set your 销 Hint Question and 销 Hint Response on 帆 by going to the 'Personal Information' and 'Change Security Question' links. It is important that you choose a question and answer that is secure and one that you will remember.

激活你的NetID
  • 访问 NetID管理 and read the NetID Guidelines and Information.
  • Click on Create NetID Account.
  • Enter your GrizzlyID and Grizzly 销 to see a list of available NetIDs.
  • Select the NetID you would like to create.
  • Then need set your NetID password on NetID管理, click on “Reset NetID password with GID (GrizzlyID) and 销.”  
  • Enter the same GrizzlyID and Grizzly 销 as you just used to create your NetID.  Enter an eight to fifteen character password in “New NetID Password” and “Verify NetID Password” boxes.  Click on the Synchronize Passwords button.
  • The next screen will show results if password reset was successfully, or if you need to go back and try again. For more information, please review the information on password requirements.
Active 目录 (ADMNET) Accounts

Active 目录 账户 are created for faculty, 工作人员, students (including student employees), and other authorized individuals when their NetID account is created using http://iam.selenaumbrella.net/picknetid.

Existing students (including student employees) own ADMNET 账户. 激活帐户, it is required to reset their password using NetID Password Manager utility located at http://netid.selenaumbrella.net. This utility will set the NetID, Google and ADMNET to the same password.

Keep Your Account Credentials Private

Once you have set up your GrizzlyID, 销, NetID, 和密码, keep these account credentials private. Never share these credentials in email or text messages. All University help operations need only your NetID or the last four digits of your GrizzlyID. University offices will never need your passwords or 销S, or your full GrizzlyID number.

Verify any email that is sent to you before you click on a link to enter credentials. Do not click on links in email that ask you to login. Do not enter any account credentials to login on a web site unless you have verified the site. Also, do not re-use the same password across multiple websites, like social media or shopping sites.

Verify Your Access to Email

Enter your NetID and password at 或者邮箱 访问您的电子邮件. Make sure you're logging into your Oakland email for important updates, like when to pay your eBill. Students can also access email through the My帆 portal.

Verify Student Access to eBill

为了提供快速的, convenient service and eliminate mailing delays, Student 业务 服务 sends billing notifications electronically to each student’s OU e-mail address. Students use NetID/Password to login to the eBill system to check their billings and account status. Students are responsible for accessing their eBill account each month to view their account balance and confirm payment due dates. eBill is the preferred way for students to pay their bill. Information Technology 资源 - Quick Policy Notes

Your access to university resources comes with responsibilities. To keep our network safe, OU maintains a detailed computing policy that you must follow. The following Quick Policy Notes highlight applicable account policies. For more information, refer to the posted full 政策及指引 information.

  1. Using university resources to sharing and downloading movies, 音乐, games and software that you don’t own and without permission of the owner is a violation of university policy as well as copyright and federal law.
  2. Important OU information will only be delivered to your OU email account.
  3. Using email or any IT tool to harass, intimidate, or bother someone is not acceptable. If someone asks you to stop, you must comply.
  4. You are responsible for maintaining and protecting your computer and devices that you have registered under your account.  
  5. Sharing your IDs and passwords is not a good idea and is a violation of university policy; you are responsible for what happens from your account. Sharing also puts you at risk of identity theft.
  6. 政治运动, commercial advertising campaigns and personal businesses cannot be run using university computing resources and using your university 账户 for these activities is a violation of policy.
  7. Email should be considered a public postcard; there is no promise or guarantee of email privacy.
  8. Breaking the rules can result in a variety of consequences, depending on the offense. Consequences may include termination of 账户, 失去访问权限, disconnection from the network, or (for students) referral to the Dean of Students for appropriate judicial processing.

Remember, it is your responsibility to understand and follow the entire IT Acceptable Use policy.
